Are You Still Single? Part VIII

fireworksAre You Still Single? Part VIII Episode- Always the Bridesmaid Never the Bride.

“You’re the one for me!” the voice cried, “I’ve made a terrible mistake!”

I was speechless.

“Vanessa. I missed a trick with you. I can’t stop thinking about you. YOU were the one that got away and..and seeing you tonight has been a reminder of that terrible mistake I made all those years ago. I should never have dumped you.”

“Stephen, it’s been tweleve years!” I heard myself saying.

“I know. I know. And trust me, they’ve been the worst twelve years of my life!”

I laughed. I couldn’t help it. This was madness.

“Trust me Vanessa. No one else compares.”

He had me locked in an embrace now. I could feel his lips on my neck kissing me gently.

I’d wanted Stephen for so long and now.. now..twelve years later he was tenderly kissing my neck and confusing all.

My body relented to his touch..his oh so familiar touch from years gone by.

I felt my heart beat race as he cupped my face in his hands and kissed my lips with all the passion in the world. I felt a volcano erupt inside of me. I let down my guard and let rip all the emotion and passion I’d felt locked inside of me for so many years now. I felt myself begin to rip off his clothing like a wild animal. I’d succumbed to the passion within and let go… let go of my guilt, let go of my fear and gave in to my deepest desires. It was now or never. I wanted to seize the moment. Stephen was cute, intelligent and full of passion. I wanted it and I wanted it all now.

It was the best night of passion I’d ever had. He’d touched me in places I didn’t know existed, made me feel things I didn’t know I had the capacity to feel. He’d had me in the throes of passion. I lost myself…

Then suddenly, he was zipping up his jeans and stepping into his shoes.

I felt a twinge in my heart.

What did I expect? He had a girlfriend.

“I have to go,” he whispered almost apologetically.

I nodded.

“You understand don’t you? We’ll talk about this tomorrow.”

He turned to leave.

“You meant what you said though?” I asked.

“Of course,” he said giving me a lopsided smile.

“I’ll see you in the morning.”

He knelt down to give me a kiss on the forehead (boyfriend style.) My heart began to race again. It was the first time I’d felt alive in years.
